It took me over a year, and a half of steady searching to find this fragrance, and was well worth the time, and effort. This fragrance has what I would call panache, and carries about itself an unabashed attitude, and is not afraid to let it be known. It would not surprise me to find perhaps a little Oak also. LArtisan Parfumeur La Maison de la Vanille La Via Del Profumo Le Couvent Le. Coeur de Vtiver Sacr, 'the offering to the gods, the mystical journey, a basket filled with fruits, flowers, spices and incense, with balms and precious woods.' That is how L'Artisan describes this perfume, an ode to vtiver. Cedar I can detect, and the Vetiver is Bourbon, and Patchouli is also apparent. It does have a hint of sweetness about it, but it think that is formed solely by the skillful blending of the Vetiver along with the woods.

I can detect no citrus at all, and this fragrance consists mostly of Vetiver, and woods.

As for the fragrance itself I cannot find a pyramid anywhere, so all I can do is guess as to the notes used in this composition. At any rate This fragrance was not exported to the US, and coupled with It's short run it was a tough find.

Like tuberose, incense, oud, jasmine and leather, vetiver is a note with amazing possibilities. The new one is exclusive to Printemps in Paris at the moment and called: Coeur de Vetiver Sacré from LArtisan Someone on POL was in Printemps and spotted it. I don't think it was created in 1978, and have no idea what that 1978 is a reference to. This is an EDT, but wears like an Eau de Parfum – the scent is strong and has fantastic lasting power. If I'm not mistaken this fragrance was released in 2001, and discontinued in 2005. Part of the reason is probably that they won’t appreciate it as much as I do, and if I give it to them, then I wouldn’t get to smell this as much, and lately, I have been spritzing it on everything. However, I’ve always been a fan of their more masculine scents, and I loved this one so much that I don’t want to give it to any of my male friends. Coeur de Vetiver Sacre seems to be a bit more masculine, perhaps because vetiver scents usually are, and the bergamot opening definitely doesn’t help. It also has a woody smoky aspect that reminds you of logs burning in the fire, and then a spicy vanilla aspect that reminds one of some kind of baking.Īll L’Artisan perfumes are unisex, but of course, you would notice that some lean more feminine than masculine, and vice versa. It has a crispness to it, which autumn does because of the approaching cool weather. The scent is bright and fresh yet so woody at the same time. There is a pepper and ginger note, and then a drydown of musk, incense, and vanilla – both cool instead of being overly warm. The bergamot provides a sparkling freshness while the black tea has a smoky woodiness to it. You can see how the vetiver is being enhanced. The opening of the scent is cool and quite green, and then middles notes of bergamot and black tea come through. Thus, the warm woodiness of the vetiver grass is preserved and at the same time heightened by the other notes added to the scent. Coeur de Vtiver Sacr includes notes of bergamot, orange, black tea, date, apricot, pepper, ginger, coriander, saffron, incense, birch, rose, osmanthus, iris, vanilla, vetiver, tarragon, sandalwood, white cedar, guaiac wood, amber, tonka beans, labdanum, castoreum, and musk. L’Artisan Parfumer’s Coeur de Vetiver Sacre, and is done by Carine Vinchon who also did their L’Eau de Jatamansi, which was a nice fresh salty blend that I loved but it just didn’t last on my skin.Ĭoeur de Vetiver Sacre (which means “The Sacred Heart of Vetiver”) is quite different from that scent, and takes the idea of the smell of Vetiver as it’s heart and base, and builds the scent around it.
